Chronic kidney disease is a global public health problem and is associated with an increased risk of serious cardiovascular events and mortality. Since Portugal is one of the European countries with the highest incidence of this pathology, we emphasize the importance of promoting the increase of notoriety of this problem with the health authorities, the health professionals and the scientific community.
