Abstract

As the crucial basis materials of Ni-MH and Ni/Cd battery electrode, the quality of the nickel foam products is closely related with the performance and safety of rechargeable batteries. In order to meet the requirements of quality control, this paper proposes an automatic vsion system for nickel foam defect detection. Detecting defects in nickel foam image can be difficult due to the inherent basic structure of mutual adhesion and surface morphology for complex random texture. A novel defect detection method is proposed to reduce the effects of the above factors. The results show that the method proposed in this paper has high recognition rate, which meets the needs of large-scale production of nickel foam.
