Abstract
The problem of image contrast enhancement was considered. An algorithm for contrast enhancement on the basis of the contrast distribution function of an image that is oriented on preprocessing of stream images in the automatic mode in real time was proposed. Experimental researches of the effectiveness of the proposed and the several well-known methods of contrast enhancement were conducted based on (using) the quantitative no-reference metrics of generalized image contrast for a series of complex real images. The results of experimental researches confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm for contrast enhancement in automatic mode for the complex images.
