Abstract

The Bioscreen turbidometer was used to study bacterial growth in a laboratory medium inoculated with raw milk. The results showed that the number of colony forming bacteria in milk determined by the plate count method can be estimated from turbidometric parameters of bacterial growth. A formula predicting the bacterial count in raw milk was developed.
