Abstract
Autochtonic elements in the culture of the eastern part of the roman province of Dalmatia considers next elements: decorative motives on the grave monuments, as are motive of rope and spiralae, jewllery of older prechistoric tradition, and chains with the ivy lieaves as iterpretatio romana of some unknown native god with the roman Dyonisos, and appereance on the grave monuments as are geometric human figure and decorative elements, loosing of proportion and bad proportion in the releief fields, horror vacui and imatation grave cippi on the grave stelae. All of those appereances are visible in the culture of population of the eastern part of roman province of Dalmatia in the period from II to beginning of IV century.
