Abstract

The chemical composition, functionality, MWD and critical concentration of micelle formation of the auto-oxidation products of the block copolymer of ethylene and propylene oxides in equimolar composition are characterized and it is shown that the factors most sensitive to auto-oxidation are the appearance of hydroperoxide and carbonyl groups in the polymers and change in their MWD. The kinetic method of studying the reaction of the hydroperoxide groups with potassium iodide and ESR showed that they are located in the polypropylene oxide block of the copolymer.
