Abstract
After the Atomic Energy Act and the Ordinance on Atomic Safety and Radiation Protection were put into force, in 1986 a new Degree on the central collection and final disposal of radioactive wastes was issued in the GDR, the content of which is being discussed now. Radioactive wastes and emissiotis belong to those forms of radioactive material handling for which different minimum significant activities are valid. In the Ordinance these minimum significant activities were supplemented by additional criteria, and the information on the safe disposal of radioactive wastes, which is necessary for granting a permission for the use of atomic energy was precised.
