Abstract
AuPd/polyaniline composites were synthesized using and electrochemical/chemical method. The materials were physicochemical characterized by SEM, XRD and XRF and electrochemical techniques. Ethylene glycol electro-oxidation was performed in 0.3 M KOH (as electrolyte) at different ethylene glycol concentrations 0.5, 1 and 2 M. The SEM characterization showed semispherical homogenous microparticles around 0.7 μm composed by nanoparticles of 30 nm. Electrochemical results showed that all AuPd/polyaniline materials exhibited good electrocatalytic activity toward ethylene glycol oxidation at room temperature with a low poisoning effect of the catalysis. The electrocatalytic activity was in function of the mass ratio between Au and Pd in the AuPd mixture.AuPd/polyaniline composites were synthesized using and electrochemical/chemical method.
