Abstract
This work exhibits a new approach for the reduction of harmonic content through three-phase system which is produced by non-linear loads. Due to enhancement in semiconductor technology, the converters and inverters play a major role in producing distorted waveforms and sometimes they may act as non-linear loads. The large-scale usage of power electronic devices, gives a path for the production of harmonics. In this effort for the reduction of current harmonics, current injection technique has been proposed. This proposed-method uses a saturable transformer with a LC filter and it will reduce the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). The current injection technique is implemented with Proportional Integral (PI) controller. PI controller performs some converging composition characteristics. The effect of variations in the injected current are analyzed in terms of power quality. Thus, a current injection configuration is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink using Simpower Blockset Toolbox.
