Abstract

Modern loudspeaker systems are discussed from the dual viewpoints of user's requirements and expectations and manufacturer's design methodologies. The performance attributes of response uniformity, time-domain behavior, directionality, electrical interface, and nonlinearities are discussed in detail. A primer on loudspeaker-room interface is presented to help the user in making practical decisions regarding installation.
