Abstract
The clinical, pathologic, and roentgenologic manifestations of the atypical mycobacteria are similar to M. tuberculosis. However, in a patient with mild symptoms, thin-walled cavities with little surrounding alveolar disease, lack of pleural reaction, preexisting lung disease, and resistance to drug therapy, the possibility of infection with atypical organism should be considered.
