Abstract

This article comprises a report on some results of a sample-survey among 952 inhabitants of the Netherlands aged 20–64 years. The article presents the opinions of the Dutch with respect to the decline in the number of the births and the prospect of a diminishing population in the future. Attitudes with respect to what the role of the government should be, in particular the acceptance of a population policy, are also looked into.
