Abstract

The aim of the research is to study the attitude of adolescent schoolchildren towards physical education classes. The research methods involve study and analysis of literary sources, conversation, sociological survey, mathematical statistics. The research organization was based on a preliminary conversation with 150 pupils in grades 5-6 across Yerevan Basic Schools №197 and №88, counting 60 boys and 90 girls. Besides the conversation, questionnaires composed of eight items were drawn up for the pupils. Findings of the sociological survey indicated that today’s schoolchildren expect physical education lessons to be enriched with modern tools and methods. The Internet and television allow pupils to see an up-to-date physical education class which is accompanied by music, includes individual approach and is attractive, based on sport games and competitive gaming.
