Abstract
The addition of the group transfer initiator dimethylketene methyl trimethylsilyl acetal and catalyst tetramethylammonium bibenzoate to a mixture of methyl methacrylate (mma) and methacryloxy-terminated polyisoprene (mac) in tetrahydrofuran resulted in the rapid homopolymerization of the mma. At long reaction times the mac added to the poly mma—apparently by a process of transesterification.
