Abstract

This article deals with the propaganda image in the media of women who participated in the undemocratic acts that took place on 11/03/2022, with the aim of questioning the electoral result that elected Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) as president of Brazil, to understand what treatment they received in media coverage, in terms of space and focus in newspapers. Through theoretical and methodological contribution of Framing Theory, guided by the concepts of gender, race and news as a social construction, it was found that women are rarely heard as sources of this news and appear more in the background in videos, reinforcing the idea of subalternization. The aim is to contribute to expanding debates on the representations of gender and race in the media based on analyzes of the coverage of the main national news portals.
