Abstract

Fe 100- xPt x-y Ru y ( x = 20, 25 and 28, y = 0 to 20) alloys with FCC structure are structurally stable down to very low temperature. The values of 57Fe hyperfine field of this system are summarized as a function of Wigner—Seitz radius r w in atomic units. As a result, the iron spins in this system are in a zero-spin state for r w ⩽ 2.712 a.u., and in a low-spin state for 2.712 a.u. < r w ⩽ 2.745 a.u., and then transform to a high-spin state just above r w = 2.745 a.u.
