Abstract
Nowadays, the industrial and technological context is characterised by the uncertainty and the complexity of its evolutions. In this border, manufacturing companies need agile technical Information Systems (IS). Indeed, this type of IS enables the integration between the infrastructures and the support of design and of production management activities. They are expected to support the company's business strategies, as well as to facilitate its adaptation to the evolutions of the external technical environment. To address these specific requirements, the ‘classical’ alignment of the technical IS with the strategy has to be completed with the alignments with its environment and uncertain evolutions. Thus, in order to support complete alignment of technical IS we propose in this article the ATIS (Aligning Technical IS) method. This method couples, in a four phases approach, the Extended Strategic Alignment Model (E-SAM) and the Multi-Screen Model. Finally, ATIS usefulness is illustrated on an industrial study case from the railway sector.
