Abstract
The supersonic steady flow of a dissipative perfect gas past a body is discussed. The asymptotic behaviour of the flow in the vicinity of infinity is dealt with. Through employment of the conservation laws, the leading terms in the Mach zone and the wake are determined for the two-dimensional and axisymmetric flows. A less complete solution is given for the general three-dimensional case.
