Abstract
A deterministic model of two competing donor species and one recipient species that simulates the dynamics of interactions in estuaries or oceans is proposed. The paper discusses the asymptotic behavior of solutions of the model. It is shown that if the competing donors are in a bistable regime or in dominance, the introduction of a recipient species does not ensure the coexistence of all three species.
