Abstract
Asymmetric metal-based catalysis is one of the most essential parts of synthetic organic chemistry. In this chapter, an effort is made to draft an overview based on various metals-based catalysts employed for different asymmetric transformations. The chapter mostly emphasizes Rh, Ru, Ir, Pd, Ni, and Co-based catalysts as they have been widely used due to their higher stereoselectivity. Various chiral ligands and their effect on the efficiency and selectivity of the metal catalysts were discussed, with special importance to the industrially, pharmaceutically, and synthetically important and viable catalytic routes.
