Abstract
In this paper, Asymmetric coplanar waveguide (CPW) - Fed Monopole antenna with hybrid slot for bandwidth enhancement is designed on FR4 substrate material and is presented for the small satellite applications, radar, scientific and medical applications. The compact size of the proposed antenna design was 17mm x 20mm x 1.6mm. By having the asymmetric fed and the hybrid slotting techniques, the antenna produces a wideband characteristics ranging from 5.31 to 26.78GHz and its impedance bandwidth (IBW) of 21.47GHz and its bandwidth ratio (BR) of 5.04. The proposed antenna design achieves a maximum peak gain of 5.32dBi and the peak radiation efficiency (η) of 85%-96%. The proposed antenna design covers the frequency bands of C (4-8GHz), X (8-12GHz), Ku (12-18GHz), K (18-26.5GHz) - band applications. This suggested work is a solution in the advanced wireless communication system because of its wide impedance bandwidth, bandwidth ratio, maximum radiation efficiency and high peak gain. The proposed antenna designed and simulated by using Ansys HFSS.
