Abstract

Compressors are widely used in different areas of industry and are among the most common types of industrial products. Therefore, the task of improving existing types of compressors and that of developing new designs of compressors are critical needs. The Astanovskii-type rotary compressor with sector pistons is an example of an innovative type of compressor. The operating principle of such a compressor is described and a mathematical model of the processes that occur in the working cavity of the compressor along with a methodology for determining the performance indicators based on the model are presented. Results of a simulation of the operation of gas and refrigeration rotary compressors with sector pistons are presented and the influence of nonequilibrium regenerative heat exchange of a compressible gas with the walls of the working cavity in this type of compressor is estimated.
