Abstract

Abstract Nonlinear-medium properties are examined for optical implementation of an associative memory system. The approach based on these properties allows one to consider two cases of the optical associative memory: spatial pattern recognition and recognition of spectral distributions. The model proposed for this purpose permits nonlinearity in the correlation domain to be used to reduce cross-correlation noise.
