Abstract

Introduction: Low tube voltage has two mechanisms for impacting plaque composition quantification. One is a direct pathway in which low X-ray energy changes plaque attenuation (Hounsfield unit [HU]) and the other is the indirect pathway through increasing coronary luminal HU. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of low tube voltage scanning on plaque morphology on coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA).
