Abstract
Hyperandrogenism is a core feature of PCOS and androgen acts through the androgen receptor (AR). The AR gene is located on X-chromosome and contains a CAG repeat length polymorphism. The number of CAG repeats and AR function are known to be inversely related. This study was undertaken to determine whether there is an association between (CAG)n repeat polymorphism located within the AR gene transactivation region and PCOS.
