Abstract
Objective: Parkinson's disease (PD) is the second-most common neurodegenerative disease in the world. Genetic factors play important role in familial and sporadic PD. Recently, rs653765 and rs514049 of ADAM10 gene variants were reported to be associated with Alzheimer disease (AD) in Caucasian population. However, the role of these variants in the pathogenesis of PD is unknown. Hence, to investigate the association between ADAM10 variants (rs653765 and rs514049) and PD susceptibility, we conducted a case-control study.
