Abstract

Summary Objective This study examined the effects of ACE ID and ACTN3 C>T in response to a multicomponent training program on power and strength levels, aerobic endurance and agility in women from 50 to 70 years. Methods The multicomponent training program was performed for 12 weeks, twice a week and each training session lasted 90 min. Results Regarding the ACE gene, the three groups improved performance in all tests, with the exception of the DD group in the sit to stand test and the ID group in the 6 minutes-walking test. Regarding the ACTN3 gene, the three groups improved performance in all tests, with the exception of the TT group in the sit to stand test and the CC group in the six minutes walking test.
