Abstract

This paper deals with an assessment of Agenda 21 in relation to United Nations agency interest areas in Indonesia. In order to evaluate the “attention span” of environmental projects operated by the UN agencies in Indonesia, the Jakarta office of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has evaluated: (1) the relation between existing and proposed projects in the UN system in Indonesia and Agenda 21 program areas; (2) key environmental processes and their relation to ongoing projects; and (3) areas in which UN agencies are or might be engaged regarding environmental issues in Indonesia.
