Assessment of the potential of theme parks for the socio-economic development of the region

Abstract

Parks have become widespread and have a significant impact on the culture of the population, regional development, the economy, as well as on the dynamics of social processes. The potential of theme parks in the context of regional development was assessed. As criteria for evaluation, we used open data from statistical collections on the subject of the study through the application of the expert assessment method. Experts ranked by importance the indicators for assessing the potential of theme parks. Each measure was scored on a 1-to-5 scale Available statistics by study topic were grouped as follows: theme park infrastructure; leisure facilities; services offered in the park; Internet provision; organized leisure activities; staffing; financial terms. The parks of Lipetsk, Moscow and Vladimir regions have high potential, at the end of the rating are the parks of Tambov, Kostroma and Smolensk regions.
