Abstract
At present, interregional cooperation of border territories in the country is of particular relevance. To improve the economic efficiency of interregional cooperation of the Republic of Bashkortostan with its border regions, the competitiveness of economic activities of the regions has been assessed. The object of research is the types of economic activities of the Republic of Bashkortostan and its border regions: the Republic of Tatarstan, the Udmurt Republic, the Perm Territory, the Orenburg Region, the Sverdlovsk Region and the Chelyabinsk Region. The paper presents the results of studies of the efficiency of types of economic activities in border regions based on calculations of the coefficients of localization of the number of employees and the turnover of industries, as well as the intensity of localization. The analysis of territorial localization and the intensity of localization in dynamics is carried out, the statuses of types of economic activity are presented according to the intensity of localization in the zones of leading and lagging efficiency, the leaders of localization are identified. Not all leading types of economic activity are effective; there are also types of economic activity in the regions that are not the main ones, but are effective in terms of territorial localization. The results of the research should become the basis for the developed strategies for interregional cross-border cooperation of regions to increase the level of socio-economic development.
