Abstract

Background: Aeromonashydrophila causes bacterial diseases that lead to intestinal and extra-intestinal infections. Objective: The study aimed to isolate Aeromonashydrophila from patients suffering diarrhea and study cytotoxic effects of new hydantion compounds on normal, cancer cell lines and it’s their antibacterial activity, Materials and Methods: The new polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons compounds1-1 and 2-2(3-((1-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethylidene)amino)-2-thioxoimidazolidin-4-one and 3-((4-(dimethylamino)benzylidene)amino)-2-thioxoimidazolidin-4-one) were prepared and evaluate its activity as antibacterial and anticancer. The ring 4-thioxoimidazolidin has a number of pharmaceutical applications nonetheless derivatives of this compound were not study enough. The new polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (1-1 and 2-2) used to inhibit Aeromonashydrophila growth by determined Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MICs). Results: The new compounds derivatives MICs showed variable results but the most MICs were in concentration 31.25μg/ml. The tested compound showed marked toxic effects to the cancer cell line (Human Larynx Epidermoid carcinoma) Hep2 (In vitro)in different concentrations range (6.25 to100 μg/ml). Conclusion: the new compounds derivatives (1-1 and 2-2) ,it causes reduced growth and proliferate of (Hep2) cell line and growth bacteria notably.
