Abstract

Tarim Basin, the largest oil and gas basin in China, are a superposed basin with multi-cycles. Most of its oil and gas resource are from the lower Paleozoic group, which has the nature of residual basins that have undergone strong modification by multiphase tectonic activities. To evaluate the oil and gas resources in Tarim Basin, a software system for three-dimensional modeling of oil and gas basins has developed. The influence of tectonic movements on the generation and migration of hydrocarbon in Tarim Basin has summarized, and the amount of oil and gas lost in tectonic activities has calculated. Thus, the existing resource of oil and gas in Tarim Basin has figured out by deducting the loss of oil and gas in the movements.
