Abstract

Assessment of learning components of any training course provides a benchmark through which training institutions or organizers could assess the effectiveness of the training. The study assessed learning components of agricultural research management training course organized for senior research managers in Nigeria. Data were collected from sample of trainees that were drawn proportionately from the research institutes. The findings show that the training was successful since learning components provided were adjudged to be generally satisfactory. The paper concludes that learning is more effective when trainees are actively involved in learning experiences rather than being passive listeners to facts being demonstrated.
