Abstract

The paper presents a preliminary survey over human exposure to radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic field (EMFs) levels generated in the vicinity of the new 5G mobile phone base stations recently installed in different major cities in Romania in comparison with other different frequency bands already used for mobile phone base stations. Measurement of electromagnetic field levels has been performed in Iasi, one of the major cities of Romania. Measurements have been performed in different urban locations with a high density of mobile phone base stations (from national operators). The EMF exposure levels for different mobile communications technologies have been measured with a calibrated up to date NARDA SRM 3006 field strength analyser system connected to an isotropic electric field probe. The methodology described by ECC RECOMMENDATION (02)04 has been rigorously respected.
