Abstract

In the research work, conventional hand layup technique will be adopted to fabricate waste marble powder (WMP) filled banana fiber (BF) with epoxy resin composite for analysis of mechanical characteristics like compressive stress, compressive strain, and wear rate. The waste marble powder weight percentage will be varied from 0 wt% to 20 wt% at 5 wt% interval. The chopped banana fiber weight percentage will be varied from 15 wt% to 35 wt% at 5 wt% interval. The epoxy resin weight percentage will be kept as 65 wt% for all samples. The specimens for compression and wear test will be prepared as per ASTM standards. The maximum compressive stress, compressive strain, and wear rate of the all composites will be evaluated through Universal Testing Machine and Pin on Disc Machine correspondingly. The outcomes from the above tests will be compared to choose the optimum filler/fiber ratio. The prepared composites will be aimed to use in packing applications.
