Abstract

The find out about of economic assessment is one of the important subjects whether on the level of production units or the level of the agricultural sector. It represents a prerequisite in how to steer and coordinate the special activities, and it is one of the important indicators by which it is possible to perceive the efficiency and orientation of available economical resources. The main purpose of the agricultural policy is embodied in maximizing the agricultural product, using the available agricultural resources. Working to improve economic efficiency is of notable significance as it looks for the fine means to use economic resources to achieve greatest productivity. The study aims at identifying the reasons that restriction the cultivation of broad beans crops in vast areas. Some economic assessment criteria were used for the most important factors that affect the productivity of this crop, and the economic assessment results showed the high costs of production, especially the fuel and the increase of fuel prices which represents 38.52% of the total costs. The capital turnover rate used to be 1.197 and this means that the return of each invested ID is a profit of 1.197, and the returns of agricultural management for each donum were 3.218 million Dinars, whereas the return of agricultural work for each donum was 5.040 million Dinars. These farms achieved technical efficiency of 82% and the economic efficiency of 75% and this means that these farms are adequately run.
