Abstract

SWOT analysis is an established strategic planning methodology for identifying an organization's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats before formulating the enterprise strategy. This paper proposes a new quantified SWOT analytic method incorporated with the vote-ranking method. The indices of SWOT will be voted, weighted and quantified to rank competitive strategies, using the total weighted scores method for obtaining the best strategy alternatives. In this research, the competitive strategies adopted by enterprises in Taiwan under the “Gore Effect” are taken as a case study, in which 25 senior managers are selected to form a decision task force. The proposed quantified SWOT analytic method is then employed to evaluate the competitive strategies in the case study, and to suggest a feasible policy to be adopted.
