Abstract
In this paper, the stability of the DC microgrid with voltage control loop is assessed using simulation and verified experimentally. The stability analysis of the DC microgrid is based on a buck converter. The proportional-integral (PI) controller is used to generate a control signal to operate the switch of the buck converter. Arduino is used to implement the PI controller. In addition, a Genetic Algorithm (GA) is used as an optimization technique in simulation work to find the optimum value of the PI controller gains. The simulation and practical results show that the stable operation of the voltage of the DC microgrid is achieved.
