Abstract

A new inorganic-organic coordination polymer based on a “V” shape linking unit 3,3′,4,4′-oxydiphthalic acid (H4ODPA),1,2–bis (4-pyridyl)ethene(bpe) and Co(II) ions, [Co2(ODPA)(bpe)(μ2-H2O)]n (1), has been prepared and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Compound 1 adopts a novel 3D CdSO4-type topological framework containing nanotube channels. Moreover, the coordination chemistry of ODPA ligand is also discussed.
