Abstract
Upper Peninsula of Michigan. On one occasion when we were returning from an excursion to Providence Bay on the south shore of the island to our base camp at Little Current on the north shore we made a very brief but rewarding stop near the little Indian settlement of Excelsior, at the south end of West Bay. Between West Bay and Manitou Lake there is a prominent headland known as High Hill.
