Abstract
This is the summarized translation into French of two official British texts which are important for the organization of Gritish Archaeology. Planning Policy Guidance 16 : Archaeology and Planning (PPG 16 nov. 90 Dept of Environment) and The Management of Archaeological Projects (second édition) (AMAC apr. 91). The first text deals with the protection of the English archaeological heritage, the second text is a model for the organisation of how to lead archaeological projects. Without being laws both texts are largely applied by British archaeologists. In the perspective of a future united European Archaeology we thought it was interesting to inform the French public about thèse two texts.
