Abstract

This literature review article results from the bibliographical analysis on the study related to the management of water resources in the city of Rio de Janeiro and part of the Baixada Fluminense, supplied by the Guandu system. The constant monitoring of water quality points to several reasons for its degradation. Industrial and residential pollution is associated with illegal occupation of its banks, industrial operations that do not comply with environmental legislation.
