Abstract
The standard of care for chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) involves tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), which suppress tyrosine kinase activity of BCR::ABL1. Hochhaus etal. reported that asciminib, a BCR::ABL1 inhibitor specifically targeting the ABL myristoyl pocket, showed superior efficacy and favorable safety compared with TKIs in the phase 3 ASC4FIRST trial in patients with newly diagnosed chronic-phase CML.1.
