Abstract

Addiction medicine specialists need to make their voices heard stronger in their communities in order to correct persistent social inequities in service delivery, the commissioner of the New York Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) told attendees of this month's annual conference of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). Chinazo Cunningham, M.D., delivered her remarks in an April 1 scientific plenary session that outlined personal career milestones that reflected her desire to close wide disparities in care.
