Abstract

An attempt is made to elucidate the origin of unique surface magnetic properties of Fe 40Ni 40B 20 ribbons annealed at 250 °C in an argon atmosphere applying angular-resolved X-ray induced photoelectron spectroscopy. It is shown that the annealing procedure leads to considerable changes in the surface chemistry.
