Abstract

The article aims to present a comprehensive view of the current state and future of artificial intelligence (AI), with particular emphasis on its opportunities and threats in the context of education. The first section introduces the topic, highlighting the revolutionary nature of AI in today’s world, and discussing the complex definition of artificial intelligence. It then outlines the opportunities for the use of AI in education, such as individualization of the learning process, customization of teaching materials, and support for students with special educational needs. An analysis of potential threats is also conducted, including ethical issues, student data security, algorithmic biases, and the risk of students becoming dependent on AI-based tools. Finally, the article emphasizes the need for a responsible approach and the necessity of regulation, ethical guidelines, and supervision to effectively harness the potential of artificial intelligence in education. The article also encourages further research into the effectiveness of AI implementation in education, especially in the Polish context.
