Abstract
89 In our fast-paced, InformatIon-rIch world, special collections increasingly are looked to as a rich supply of unique, rare, and primary sources from which new knowledge, dynamic discovery, and intense learning experience can be generated. We attribute assumed value to these materials because they are rare, unique, and distinctive. Yet we increasingly face management environments in which long-held assumptions and practices are being challenged. We can no longer simply assume value. Instead, we must demonstrate impact.
