Abstract

In this essay, I discuss the relations between art, research and teaching in reference to a recent, reactionary or defamatory process of discrediting the arts and education, as well as to a wider process of delegitimization, notoriously thematized by Jean-Francois Lyotard. In this course, I evaluate some displacements within the Art Education related to the use of the arts as a methodology by certain theoretical streams associated to the proposition of an art-based educational research. In contrast, my argument goes through the idea of an invention of teaching-research, for which I bring as an example the work of the research agency Forensic Architecture.
