Abstract

It is known that, since ancient times, pedagogues of different countries have paid great attention to the development of teaching principles that contribute to the successful implementation of the educational process. In the middle of the 19th century, the works of classical pedagogues were already known in Europe, but they weren't still translated into Armenian. However, Armenian pedagogues-enlighteners, due to their knowledge of foreign languages were carefully studying the existing publications and were in favor of introducing new pedagogical approaches into the educational process. The main purpose of the study was to explain the contribution of Armenian pedagogues to the development of didactic principles of teaching in the second half of the 19th century. Armenian pedagogues have left an invaluable mark in the study of didactic principles of education in the discussed historical period under consideration. The proposed pedagogical principles have not lost their educational, theoretical and practical significance and meaning even nowadays.
