Abstract

The paper consists of six main parts. Part one (p. 135) is a review of the presentation in history and geography books and in encyclopedias of the 1915 massacres which annihilated most of the Ottoman Empire's Armenian population. Part two (p. 137) is a survey of Armenian history before the establishment of Soviet Armenia. Part three (p. 141) deals with Nansen's efforts on behalf of Armenian refugees. Part four (p. 144) analyzes the situation of the Armenians as the majority population of one of the constituent republics of the USSR and one of its minor nationalities. Part five (p. 149) deals with the Armenian Diaspora outside the USSR. Part six (p. 153) is entitled ‘The Armenian question today.’
